Indoor Music Games are pleased to announce the revised dates for the 2022
IMG Shows which will be as follows: –
IMG Bristol. Sat 19 March
IMG Leicestershire. Sat 30 April
IMG Essex. Sat 14 May
The 2022 season will be the first IMG shows since 2019, as shows in 2020 and 21 weren’t able to take place due to the Covid 19 epidemic. IMG Secretary Greg Small commented “Due to the recent Omicron variant we’ve decided to put the Bristol show back to March and go with three shows for the 2022 season. Whilst we must be aware of the situation with Omicron, we’re looking forward to getting going again. We see 2022 as a comeback season and an opportunity for bands and corps who are just getting back together or rebuilding after Covid.
Due to the current climate a number a group’s have asked to perform in exhibition, rather than in competition. IMG has decided that all participants are welcome to perform in exhibition rather than in competition if they wish to. This will enable them to perform in a no pressure environment, where they can introduce new members to the activity. Also, we will be keeping costs to zero for all participants. IMG has never charged for membership or registrations, but this year we will also waive contest entry fees, which will make our events as accessible as possible.
The Indoor Music Games are about achieving the best combination of both excellence and spectator enjoyment. It also aims to provide performance and competition opportunities to younger performers where they can grow and develop in a safe environment, whilst giving them an enjoyable and educational experience. As IMG competitions are open to all, IMG groups can be Performance Ensembles, Brass bands, Wind bands, Alumni corps, small drum corps/marching bands, School or College bands, or any form of musical presentation etc.
IMG also offers marching bands the opportunity to compete much earlier in the year, so those who wish to can then go on to participate in the summer season. Shows will again feature Winds, Percussion, Music Ensemble and Concert Classes in the 2022 shows, with Music Ensemble and Concert Classes using the Gold, Silver or Bronze award placing system.
