With continued uncertainty on the spread of the Coronavirus throughout the world currently, the board of IMG, have taken the decision to postpone the WGI UK Regional scheduled for March 22nd at Bristol. The intention is to move it back to our Essex Show on May 16th, which we hope will allow more time for the situation to become clearer.
This decision has not been taken lightly and has been done so with full awareness and co-operation with all those travelling to us from outside of the UK for the event, including our friends travelling from Asia and the USA.
Show organiser Andy Hewlett said “I’m really sorry that we won’t be able to welcome the WGI team our visitors from Asia, Daarul Quran to Bristol as we were looking forward to hosting them. But with the current situation concerning the Coronavirus, we all felt that asking people to travel across the world at the moment would be unwise. This means that we won’t be able to hold the WGI training day on March 21st, which will be rearranged to a date later in the year. However IMG Bristol will go ahead as a standard IMG circuit show on March 22nd and we look forward to setting off the season with some entertaining performances from across the UK, as well as a Massed Band Finale.”
We are now putting everything in place to ensure that the Essex show is fully prepared to welcome the WGI judging team for the WGI UK Regional as a result.
